Established in 2023, Sixth Circle Tattoo & Piercing Lounge is proud to call the heart of Welwyn Garden City our home. Our studio is built on a foundation of creativity, professionalism, and care.

We’re a dedicated team of two resident tattoo artists, two full-time piercers, and an in-house laser technician, all committed to delivering high-quality services in a sterile, friendly, and welcoming environment.

At Sixth Circle, we aim to make body art accessible, professional, and welcoming for everyone.
All piercings are available on a walk-in basis, no appointment needed. Just drop by and we’ll take care of the rest.

For clients under 18, parental consent is required, either in person or with written permission. In some cases, we may need to contact a parent or guardian to confirm consent.

Tattoo and laser treatments are by appointment only, but we do welcome walk-ins when availability allows. If you're passing by, feel free to check in, we’ll do our best to fit you in.

Meet the team.
Mark Mercer
Piercer and Owner
Mark has been piercing for 12 years and has an amazing reputation in Welwyn Garden City.
Mark does all piercings by walk ins so you are always welcome to have a spontaneous piercing.
Within the studio we only pierce with single use needles and titanium jewellery.
We do stock a range of jewellery for all sorts of piercings and we can order some other jewellery in, if you would prefer something else.
Mark has a piercing aftercare number which you can contact with any problems or enquires. Mark also offers aftercare advice and piercing consultations whenever you need help or advice.
Please note- Anyone under the age of 18 will require parental consent, either in person or written. We still may have to call a parent or guardian to double check.
Scott Stitcher
Resident Artist
Scott has been tattooing for 10 years is comfortable in all styles of tattooing, however, he specialises in Japanese, traditional and colour tattoos. Scott is also very well known for his tattoo and scar cover ups. Consultations are always welcomed to discuss ideas and designs. Scott loves doing custom traditional and Japanese designs.

Artist
Lia is our newest artist and is multiskilled in a diverse range of styles including; Line work, mandala, floral, dot work and realism for which she has a passion for.

Gemma Cutbill
Studio Apprentice/Piercer
Gemma started with us in 2023 and has become a valued part of the team.

You will find her piercing or on reception, and when she gets a spare moment she practices tattooing and her drawing skills as our studio apprentice.

Can I get tattooed if I am under 18 with parental consent?No — even with parental consent, it’s illegal to tattoo anyone under 18. This is part of the Tattooing of Minors Act (1969). You can read more about it here.

how much are nose piercings?nose piercings are £25, all piercings are walkins, 11-6, Tuesday to Saturdays. If you are under 18, you will need a parent or guardian with you or written consent.

Is everything you use sterile?Absolutely. We only use the best single-use sterile equipment, and this is purchased gas-sealed and sterilised from a licensed retailer. This means that after each client the equipment is clinically disposed of by our specialist clinical waste company.

What ID do I need to bring?Please bring either your passport, driving licence, or a valid Citizen Card — these are the only forms of ID we can accept.

How do I get a quote and book and appointment?We understand that people have a busy lifestyle so have a few ways you can get advice, quotes and check availability. 1.) What are your opening hours?Our opening hours are Tuesday - Sunday 11am - 6pm. Tattoos - We are an appointment only studio with the exception to our advertised flash sales, which will be promoted via our social media accounts. Feel free to pop into the studio to discuss designs and appointments with one of our team members. Piercings - All piercings are done on a walk-in basis.

Do you accept credit and debit cards?Yes - The studio accepts all major credit and debit cards including American Express. You can also pay via cash or bank transfer.

Do you offer consultations?Yes - Our team are always on hand to talk through your tattoo journey from design Ideas, tattoo day and aftercare advice.

Do you design custom tattoos?Yes! - Every artist loves to get creative and welcomes the idea of creating unique masterpieces for you to showcase on your body. When thinking of a design please consider as much reference material. The references can be anything from similar designs you like, photos, colours, font styles, and body position.

How much are piercings?Piercing prices vary depending on the location, number of piercings, and other factors. For the most accurate quote, we recommend speaking with our team directly. They’ll be happy to discuss your needs and provide the correct price for your visit.

What is the best aftercare for tattoos?Your artist will explain all the aftercare advice in detail and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. They will ask you questions about your job, any hobbies you may have or holidays coming up. This allows us to tailor your aftercare to ensure it is suitable for your circumstances. We follow up with you during the healing process to ensure your aftercare is progressing as we would expect and encourage you get in touch if you have any questions.

Minimum piercing ageOur minimum piercing age is 7 due to gaining a child's consent? Intimate piercings are 18+ To discuss your piercing please contact the team or pop into the studio.

Do you tattoo hands and necks?Yes — but it’s always up to the artist’s discretion. We’ll have a chat with you first about your ideas.

How much does a sleeve cost?It really depends on the style, complexity, and amount of work involved. Once we’ve discussed your design in detail, we’ll give you a rough estimate of the time and cost.

Do tattoos hurt?All tattoos have some level of discomfort, but it depends on the area of the body and your own pain threshold. Some areas hurt more than others — but we’ll always talk you through what to expect.
